Take a Last Look

At last, an April Day to enjoy....23 degrees, light evenings, and time for a long overdue walk to the watch the building of the link. At 7pm the last lorry was packing away its metal jaws until tomorrow.

The corner of London Road and Woodsgate Park was abandoned, as ever, with inadequate signage and blocked views of oncoming traffic. We've nicknamed it surprise junction, because you never know what you will meet.

And this evening, to add to the excitement, they flooded part of London Road to give pedestrians the thrill of a muddy shower from the wheels of passing cars. I stopped nevetheless. I stopped to take a last look at the tops of the houses awaiting demolition.

With baffle boards and scaffolding in place, these houses must surely be about to topple.

So what has happpened to the link road? Not alot, but enough to entice me down to the lower bridge to see a different view. For there in the cutting is the beginning of a route map, carved in the mud to the South......

                                                            And the North.......

Work will speed up now, I think. I will be chasing the changes with my camera so as not to miss the'high' points. If anyone (as sad as me) wants to share any shots of the road nearer to Crowhurst and St Leonards, please let me know.
